About Us

The people of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church are a welcoming community committed to living and growing as witnesses to Jesus Christ in our daily lives.

We are a Lutheran congregation of the Southeastern Iowa Synod of the ELCA located in Knoxville, IA. Join us for worship Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack before heading to Sunday School at 10:15.  (Sunday School is scheduled during the school year).

  • Announcements

    *Wednesday night Advent Services will begin December 6th at 7:00p.m. Join us for a time of Holden Evening Prayer during this season of hope and anticipation.

    *“A Childhood Christmas” is coming to GSLC on Sunday, December 17th. This original program was written and directed by Marty Adkins. The program will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the 17th. Program rehearsals have begun; for more details, contact Marty after worship!

    *On December 21st, the longest night of the year, GSLC will host a Blue Christmas service at 6:00 p.m. This service is open to all and will include prayer around the cross. Blue Christmas services are a way of celebrating Christmas even as the holidays are a difficult time for many. Cider and pizza will be on hand after the service, followed by church council.

    *Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year. As such, we’ll have our regular morning worship at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, December 24th (the fourth Sunday of Advent). Later in the evening (Christmas Eve), we’ll host two Candlelight Services — one at 7:00 p.m. and another at 11:00 p.m.
